Leslie David Baker, known for his role on NBC’s 'The Office,' has entered the restaurant business. Baker opened a Honey Baked Ham franchise in Sherman Oaks, California, on June 22. The official grand opening is set for July 11, according to company representatives.
Honey Baked Ham, a national chain specializing in glazed ham and deli sandwiches, has not previously drawn much celebrity ownership. Baker’s involvement has attracted attention on social media and at the store, where some customers have come in hoping for a photo with the actor.
The Sherman Oaks location serves the brand’s standard menu: ham by the pound, turkey, sides, and sandwiches. Prices for lunch items range from $10 to $15. Early afternoon on Monday saw a steady line but no major delays.
Baker has said in interviews that he plans to be on-site for the July 11 event. A representative at the shop said staff are preparing for higher than usual foot traffic on that day. The shop operates daily from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
While New York has no Honey Baked Ham locations, celebrity-backed food ventures remain common in the city. Baker’s move highlights a continuing trend of actors expanding into the food business, often outside New York’s core markets.
