Burger King has brought back its Crown Nuggets, a menu item last seen in city locations more than a decade ago. The chicken nuggets, notable for their crown-like shape, returned to New York outlets this week. According to signage at the Eighth Avenue Burger King near Penn Station, Crown Nuggets are now available as part of both kids’ meals and standalone orders.
The company discontinued the item in the early 2010s. On Friday afternoon, customers at the Midtown store noted the familiar taste and shape. "I missed these," said Marcus Diaz, a regular at the franchise. "It’s just different from the usual nuggets."
A Burger King spokesperson said the decision follows requests on social media and feedback from franchise operators in several cities. Locations in Brooklyn and Queens also began selling the product over the weekend. Pricing varies, with a six-piece order listed at $3.49 at most city branches.
Some customers recalled childhood memories tied to the nuggets’ shape, which was first introduced in the early 2000s. The rollout is part of a broader push by the chain to revisit older menu items this spring. The company has not announced how long the Crown Nuggets will remain available.
