Catch Hospitality Group is preparing its next project for the West Village. Cafe Charmant, a French brasserie, is set to open at 340 Bleecker Street between Christopher and West 10th streets in mid-September. The address previously held a retail storefront.
Eugene Remm and Tilman Fertitta, who have expanded Catch’s portfolio across Manhattan, are behind the venture. Their recent openings include Or’esh, a Mediterranean restaurant in Soho, and Eighty-Six, which took over the former Chumley’s space. The duo also operates The Corner Store, known for reservation scarcity since launching in Soho.
Construction at the Bleecker Street site has been ongoing through the summer. On Monday, workers were seen finishing the sidewalk scaffolding and signage. A paper notice in the window listed Cafe Charmant as the tenant, with a liquor license application pending.
According to staff at nearby businesses, the team has visited frequently over the last two weeks to coordinate deliveries and kitchen equipment installation. The group has not yet posted menus or official opening hours. However, the brasserie label points to a focus on French classics and all-day service.
The West Village continues to draw restaurant groups seeking high foot traffic and late-night crowds. With the summer heat pushing diners outdoors, sidewalk seating has been in high demand along Bleecker. Cafe Charmant is expected to join the mix later this season.
