Chef Maria Sanchez has been appointed executive chef at Harborview, a seafood restaurant located on the Upper West Side. She began her tenure this month, replacing Daniel Kim, who left the restaurant earlier this year.

Sanchez brings over a decade of experience working in New York kitchens, including stints at several seafood-focused establishments. Her culinary approach centers on seasonal, local ingredients and traditional techniques.

Harborview opened in 2015 and has maintained a steady presence in the neighborhood, known for its selection of fresh fish and shellfish. The restaurant has undergone several kitchen leadership changes in recent years.

The new chef said she plans to maintain the restaurant’s core menu while introducing some new dishes reflecting her background in regional American seafood. No major renovations or concept changes are currently planned.

The restaurant is located on West 70th Street and remains open for dinner service seven days a week.
