Reservations opened last week for Indienne, a new Indian fine dining restaurant from chef Sujan Sarkar. The restaurant is set to open Thursday, May 28, at 515 West 38th Street, on the corner of 10th Avenue, inside the Henry Hall residential building.
Indienne arrives with a reputation. In Chicago, Sarkar’s original location received a Michelin star. The New York outpost marks his first local project. Menu details have not been released in full, but the Chicago version is known for tasting menus with contemporary Indian dishes, some using French techniques.
Indienne is the first of three dining concepts Sarkar plans for Henry Hall. Another, Elder, will focus on British Indian chophouse fare. A third, unnamed spot, is expected to follow later this year.
The opening comes as spring transitions into summer in Hudson Yards, with more foot traffic in the area from office workers and residents. Early evening passersby on 38th Street this weekend could see construction teams finishing interiors behind papered windows.
