Terminal 4 has seen the most recent changes. Shake Shack near Gate B23 continues to draw lines for burgers and fries. Across the concourse, Uptown Brasserie offers table service, with omelets and club sandwiches priced around $20. Nearby, Mi Casa turns out tacos and rice bowls for passengers in a rush.
In Terminal 5, JetBlue’s base, Deep Blue on the Fly serves sushi and noodle bowls. Cheeseburger fans tend to stop at 5ive Steak, where a basic burger costs $18. For coffee, Cibo Express remains the default, with prepared sandwiches and pastries stocked throughout the terminal.
Terminal 8, where American Airlines flights depart, features Bobby Van’s Grill, known for steak and eggs in the morning and higher-priced entrees at dinner. Fast-casual options like Shake Shack and La Vie offer alternatives for travelers on a tighter schedule or budget.
This season’s warmer weather has not changed the essential calculus for airport dining: prices are higher than in most Queens neighborhoods, and lines can be unpredictable. Still, the variety has increased, and most terminals now serve food past 10 p.m.
