A new Japanese-style wine and sake bar called Noury is set to open its doors in Soho on Thursday, June 25. The restaurant is located at 137 Sullivan Street, at the corner of Prince Street. Owners Lina Goujjane and Alex Chang, known for their work at Kiko nearby, are behind the project.

Noury will offer a menu focused on Japanese bar fare, with an emphasis on sake and natural wines. The team says small plates will anchor the food options, including skewers and cold dishes. Early menus seen on Tuesday afternoon list prices from $8 for snacks to $24 for larger plates.

The opening comes as the neighborhood sees steady foot traffic, especially in the evenings. Outdoor seating has been set up along Sullivan Street. A staff member preparing for Thursday's launch described the mood as "casual but attentive."

Goujjane and Chang received two stars from the New York Times for Kiko, which serves Asian American cuisine. Their approach at Noury is more focused on Japanese drinking culture, according to a spokesperson for the restaurant. The wine list, assembled by co-owner Goujjane, features bottles from both Japan and Europe.

Reservations are being taken for opening weekend. Walk-in bar seats are expected to be available, especially after 9 p.m. Weeknight hours will run until midnight, with later closings on Fridays and Saturdays.
