McDonald’s has removed its Pumpkin Spice Latte from menus across New York City this week, ending a ten-year run for the seasonal drink. Employees at the Fulton Street location in Lower Manhattan confirmed the change on Wednesday morning. The chain is introducing a new caramel apple-flavored coffee drink in its place, starting this month.

Customers arriving for their usual morning order were met with digital menu boards advertising the new offering. The transition comes at the start of the fall season, a time when pumpkin-flavored items typically appear at coffee chains citywide. Starbucks and Dunkin’ continue to serve pumpkin spice drinks this month.

A McDonald’s spokesperson said the change is part of a company-wide refresh of autumn menus. The spokesperson declined to share sales figures but cited customer demand for "fresh flavors" this season. Prices for the new caramel apple latte mirror those of the outgoing pumpkin spice version, with a medium priced at $3.69 at most Manhattan outlets.

Some regulars voiced disappointment over the removal. “It’s been my fall routine for years,” said a Midtown customer on Thursday morning. Others said they planned to try the new drink, which is now available at all city locations.

The shakeup reflects a broader trend of fast food chains rotating seasonal drinks more frequently. McDonald’s has not said whether the pumpkin spice latte will return in future autumns.
