Popeyes has launched two new biscuit baking mixes at grocery stores across the country this week. The rollout marks the brand's first attempt to bring one of its popular restaurant items into home kitchens. Boxes of the mixes appeared at Manhattan grocery chains on Monday, retailing for $4.99.

On Tuesday morning, shoppers at the Key Food on Avenue A paused at a small display near the entrance. 'I’ll try it, but it won’t be the same as fresh,' said Marlene Ortiz, a longtime Lower East Side resident.

The mixes come in original and honey butter flavors. Instructions on the box promise fresh biscuits within 20 minutes, requiring only milk and butter. Some social media users have voiced skepticism, questioning if the home version can match the texture and flavor of Popeyes’ restaurant biscuits.

Industry analysts note the move is part of a wider trend among fast food brands expanding into retail products. The timing coincides with the start of festival season, when home entertaining and picnics increase. Representatives for Popeyes say additional retail products may follow later this year.
