By 9 a.m., cafes along Bowling Green and Stone Street had already filled with fans. At Leo’s Bagels, employees reported lines out the door, with egg sandwiches and iced coffee in high demand. Further north, Fraunces Tavern opened earlier than usual to accommodate parade-goers looking for breakfast and shelter from the heat.
Bars along the route, including The Dead Rabbit and The Full Shilling, adjusted their hours and menus. Both served quick-service drinks and snacks, anticipating the noon crowd spillover. Outdoor seating was limited or temporarily suspended by midday due to pedestrian congestion and increased security measures.
Several restaurants in the Financial District reported increased reservations for lunch, with some walk-ins turned away by 11:30 a.m. Battery Park City establishments, including Blue Smoke and El Vez, saw steady afternoon business as fans dispersed from City Hall.
Operators say they expect a busy evening as celebrants linger downtown, with many planning to extend happy hour specials or add televisions for ongoing coverage. Police and sanitation crews have advised businesses to prepare for late-night crowds and street closures lasting into Friday morning.
