Shake Shack has brought back its chocolate pistachio shake as a limited-time menu item. The chain confirmed the return on Wednesday, citing customer demand. The shake is available at New York City locations starting this week.
The chocolate pistachio shake first appeared as a seasonal special in past summers. It combines chocolate frozen custard with pistachio flavor, topped with whipped cream. At the Madison Square Park location, staff reported steady orders for the shake during the lunch rush on Tuesday. The price for a regular size is $6.29 before tax.
A Shake Shack spokesperson said the shake is scheduled to remain on menus through the end of August, while supplies last. Staff at the Brooklyn Heights outpost noted that customers have asked about its availability since early June. Some regulars described it as a summer-only ritual.
The company continues to rotate frozen custard offerings throughout the year. This summer, the chocolate pistachio shake joins other seasonal shakes such as strawberry rhubarb and cold brew. The menu change comes as Shake Shack faces increased competition from other fast-casual chains introducing summer desserts.
The company did not announce further specials for July or August. For now, the chocolate pistachio shake is available at all Manhattan, Brooklyn, and Queens locations, while stocks last.
