Dr. Bombay Ice Cream, the dessert brand launched by Snoop Dogg, is searching for an International Ice Cream Taster. The position, which comes with a $10,000 per month salary, was posted this weekend. Applicants are being asked to submit their interest online.
The job description includes traveling to various locations, sampling new and existing flavors, and providing feedback to the Dr. Bombay team. The company states that no prior experience in food criticism is required, but a passion for ice cream is necessary.
This announcement comes as fall flavors begin to appear in New York ice cream shops. At Morgenstern’s on Houston Street, staff were scooping apple pie and pumpkin varieties to Saturday afternoon crowds. Dr. Bombay’s move is seen by some in the industry as an effort to keep its brand visible during the slower autumn season.
Snoop Dogg, known primarily for his music career, has made several forays into food in recent years. Dr. Bombay Ice Cream debuted in select New York convenience stores earlier this year. The company has not announced any new retail locations in the city for the fall.
The application period for the taster role remains open. The company has not said when it will make a final selection.
